2011 dawned for us on terrace. A cake slightly bigger than a bun and a candle which reignites, with the lighting support of Quality Inn Sabari, was enough to make our new year brighter. After hogging our miniscule cake, watching fireworks on the terrace and wishing friends or new year, we slept like babies for a bigger day ahead.
A relaxed morning, waiting for relations to join us for lunch, went eventful with an elaborate cooking spree interrupted frequently by calls and wishes. Lunch Happened, Biriyani was a salt-less disaster, yet made everyone, shove it down their throats. After an uninterrupted siesta, headed to the crowded Marina for a seafront evening.
Parking troubles and a minor fight with another car, my day felt complete. We stationed ourselves, halfway to the shore, some of the oldies munching home made goodies, while we headed towards the shore. We stood there near the water, staring at distant ships, the flickering lights at the distance, just savouring the sweet sea breeze. We had ginger coffees and it was deeeevine!
Walked back to our matted camps and rushed immediately to the nearest balloon shooting spot. First round, I score six and the second time when we came back it was five...So I won unopposed. Then we headed for Hot Bajji's waited while cursing the ones, in line before us and finally had our fill. The guys bought a catapulting lighted arrow, something and were engrossed in shooting it higher every-time. We sat there, teasing and gobbling up everything edible with occasional clicks for memory.
The snap above was taken, just before we called it a day. And should say, it was an exciting start to 2011.
