Live-in Words I

Going along the lane of life, there are words that affect, that live in us. Poems and Prose, that speak our mind, touch, some such quotes, that do the trick for me are:

What if we still hold on, we two
with life forever old yet new,
changed not in kind, but in degree.
The instant made eternity-
And heaven just prove that you and me
stay alone, together, forever and forever
- Browning

Shake hands for ever, cancel all our vows,
And when we meet at anytime again,
Be it not seen in either of our brows-
That we one jot of former love retain
-Drayton

Love alters not with this brief hours and weeks
But bears it out even to the edge of doom
 - Shakespeare

And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any you belied with false compare.
- Shakespeare

Come live with me and be my love,
And we will some new pleasures prove.
- Marlowe

Love's riddles are, that though thy heart depart
It stays at home, and thou with losing savest it
-Donne

Teach me to love and to forgive,
Exact my own defect to scan,
What others are, to feel, and know myself a man.
-Gray

Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day, I shall be well again!
For then the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.

Treasury of Tamil Lyrics on Love

Irukkum Kavignargal imsaigal podhum
Ennaiyum Kavignan akkathe...

How divine thy love? Whats better than to call it poetic? Or express in Poems
Transliteration: In the above lyrics, the lover sings to her beloved, there is enough torture from the poets already, don't make me one too.

Kadhalukku Jathi illai, madhamum illaye
Kangal pesum varthaiyile betham illaye...

Love has no bounds, it has its own tongue.
Transliteration: Two friends discussing love 50 years ago, said, love does not see differences through race, caste, creed, nor does it judge you based on who you worship. The language that hearts speak through eyes, is singular and universal.

Jathakangal parpathillaye- athu
Kaasu panam ketpathillaye

Life is never the same without love, inconsiderate of who you are, where you are from.
Transliteration: Two friends discussing love a decade ago, said, Love doesnot predict you through your horoscope, nor does it ask you anything in return, in kind or in cash.

Iravukkai Nilavukkai; Yengum intha Ezhaikkai
Neeyum Kai, Nithamum Kai, Ethiril nirkum evarai Kai

Bless my beloved, for nothing more can make me happier
Transliteration: Bless him O! Moon. Bless him, when it dark, bless him because I am poor, and this is all I can afford. Bless him tonight, bless him always.

Naan Pirakkum munne, ada nee piranthathen
Naan pirakkum pothu, nee unthan kaiyil yennai yentha thano?

Come into the world a day before me, and let me die a day before you, for I shall never see a world without you.
Transliteration: Why were you born before me? So that you can hold me in your arms, when I am born?

Yenakkoru malar Malai nee vaanga vendum,
Athu Etharko...

When I die, let me be in your arms. For the world shall know, we belong.
Transliteration: A terminally ill lover, pleads her love to get her a garland of flowers, whatever happens, the garland could be used (To make her his/Her deathbed)

These are some of the lyrics I have grown up with, enjoyed reminiscing every word...these have been my world of association. As love never ends, so shall these, will continue.
